Something is really wrong with my instagram engagement

Hey so I’m a musician and I have a song coming out soon with a friend of mine. We both posted the same preview of the song on our instagrams. I’m super confused because my Instagram has 11.9k followers and his has 950 or so but his got way more engagement than mine did. For example I only got 65 likes and his got 123. He also got shares and I didn’t get any. His reach on his post was a bit less than mine too. We also had the same captions.
Any idea what the issue could be?
