I work in social media and actually apply for verifications for a lot of clients. Any profile both for Facebook and Instagram that is NOT classified as personal (either government officials, businesses and celebrities who have to have a certified agent/manager and/or participated in projects seen or heard by 5000 people) can apply for verification. There are contacts directly at Facebook for each world region attached to each category of professionals one can contact for verification. They simply have to prove the account is theirs and the assigned FB contact will provide the verification for both Instagram and Facebook accounts.
