Instagram randomly following new accounts

So I have started noticing that accounts are showing up on my feed that I never followed. And I go to their page and it says I’m following them. Which is strange because they’re nobody I know, and they have low post counts, and followers.
Has anyone else had this happen? I’m going to Change my password, but I’m curious if there’s something else going on. I read that apps with permission to use your Instagram can do this. But I went to the settings on my desktop, and there were no apps in that list. So I’m stumped.
