How is snapchat still getting access to my contacts?

I have disabled snapchat from having access to my contacts but it still somehow shows my contacts and mutual friends of my contacts in my quick add section. I have also disabled people from being able to see my username on their quick add. How is snapchat getting access to my contacts even though I have it disabled in my privacy settings? Is there a way to turn off the quick add function?
