Instagram post duplicate

I post for a small family business on my instagram account. Sometimes, the post will duplicate and divide the likes. It starts out as maybe one post that gets about 40-50 likes. And then out of nowhere, my notifications show that a duplicate post was started and it begins dividing up the remainder of the likes. So at the end of the week I have 2 photos of "a flower" one with 200 likes and the other with 100 likes.
And here is another thing: the duplicate photo does not save to my page. So it is this ghost. I tried going to options> turn off save original photo. But that has not worked. Does anyone know what this is? How to stop it? Or simply you share the same frustration? I must be doing something wrong...
