Brand wants to claim my FB URL - What are my rights?
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
I received a message from a big brand on Facebook saying the following:"Hi, it looks like your personal account is using our Trademarked business name. We would like to request that you change your URL to something that does not infringe on our trademark. Can we create an easy solution for this?"
I stayed up at midnight the day Facebook URLs came out in 2009 to get this URL for my personal page and have used it ever since with no problem. What are my rights as I do not want to give it up/Should I respond? If I don't respond, will they be able to take it from after submitting a claim with Facebook? This brand seems well established and they sell their products at big brand name stores.
Thanks for any help.
Edit: It's worth noting this word is a common word that has multi-trademark claims (I checked the trademark website), as well as being a common word in the dictionary.
