Twitter Verification Badge Lost

A business page I manage lost its verification badge on Twitter because it merged with another company and had to change the username to reflect our rebrand.
Does anyone know how to get a verification badge back? I tried contacting Twitter but no luck and read that Twitter is no longer accepting new requests for verified accounts.
