Somebody made a Facebook account with my email?

So I don’t have a Facebook and I noticed I’ve been getting emails from Facebook which means somebody used my email to make an account somehow but somebody had also used this email to make a tumblr from years ago so I’m guessing somebody had this email and deleted it. But, every time I get an email from Facebook, I click to disable the account but it never works and then I get another email a few weeks later, so I wanted to know how do you disable the account without logging on it?
(I tried posting this to the Facebook Reddit but it keeps saying I broke a rule or some bullshit)
