"Send us a writing Sample" What do they want?

So here's the story. I just interviewed with a company today for a summer internship. Now, I REALLY need this job (or just a job in general, I'm sure you all know how tough times are), and I was delighted to find out that they were interested!

Just for some context, this company is fairly new; they were established in the past few years, and they operate in the healthcare industry providing a service that connects users with doctors.

They have a fairly solid base in their home city, but they are trying to move into my city, and they are looking for a social media/marketing intern to help them bring in as much awareness as possible in this new market. As of now, they don't have a very strong or established social media presence, nor do they have a blog. One of the things that we talked about a lot in my interview related to how I created and curated a lot of content and a lot of BLOGS during my last internship.

So after the interview, I receive an email from the interviewer saying she is interested in selecting me for the role, but would like me to send her a writing sample or two so she can judge my style and approach. Here's the caveat: It can be ANY writing sample. It does not have to be a blog from a past internship or anything like that. Anything is fair game.

Now, I know what you're all thinking:

"Oh, well just send them a blog post from your past internship dirtyjersey1999. Easy money."

Well, I could do that, but I don't think that's the optimal thing to do.

At my last internship, I worked at a B2B Product Design Agency. The blog posts I wrote were written without much of an agenda; a lot of times, the subject matter of these articles was just announcements pertaining to a new product that we helped design or a new hire in the office. Additionally, I don't think these posts necessarily serve as a good example of my "style", as I wrote them with a heavy emphasis on keeping the tone of the brand

I have a feeling that they want to see something that not only displays my "style", but also has a more relevant marketing-related agenda, goal, conversion, etc. in mind. I'm willing to write something completely new for this opportunity, but I'm not sure what angle I should take in doing so, what direction I should go in, or what subject matter I should even cover. I would look to their blog for inspiration, but as I said, they don't have one.

With that said, what do you guys think?
