FB Live problems from desktop?

I manage a Facebook page for the college I work for. We do weekly Facebook lives with different people from around the college. So far minimal hitches and explosive engagement. Today however, I'm seeing that FB Live no longer works on Chrome. It works for me on Firefox, but not for anyone else. Facebook recommends downloading the chrome beta, but that doesn't seem to work for folks either. Is anyone else having similar problems? If so, have you figured out a workaround? Our current workaround is encouraging people to use a mobile device and the Facebook app or the pages app. Not ideal, especially for folks who aren't great with tech to begin with.
