Delayed snap delivery on Snapchat?

I’m only experiencing this with one friend. For example, my friend could send me a snap at 3:00PM but I’d only receive it until 7:00PM. Why are the deliveries being delayed?
I’ve tried deleting the app, turning off and on my phone, clearing my cache, etc. But the issue isn’t being fixed.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Why is this happening and how can I stop it?
