Unexplained surge of followers on inactive/empty Facebook page

I made this page for fun on June 2019, posted 3 memes the same day and let it go and completely forgot about it. Today I checked it and saw 2700 likes and follows, of which 1500 only in the last 2 months. Someone can explain to me what happened? My content was shared only by a couple of individuals last year so it's bugging me how's this possible, I even asked my Facebook savvy friends and they're puzzled too.
