Can paying for IG ads increase your ranking on the algorithm / engagement rate?

Yesterday I spent £2 on my latest post just to get it a few more likes and impressions in hope that the lacking stats on my comeback post (was shadowbanned before so i was offline for 2wks) dont cause me to rank lower on the algorithm and have less of my followers see my content. Would the ad gaining the post increased stats change anything to do with that?
I haven't done any proper ads yet I just did that small amount to increase the numbers on that post as they were lacking for some reason
