Are automated social media posts worth it? What's the best way to do it?

Hey everyone, so I run a niche website which has been doing pretty well as of late. However, it's just a side project for me so updating its social media accounts is tedious. As of now, I have a FB, Insta, and Twitter for it.
I was wondering if I could maybe automate the posts. I have 30 or so articles on my site and I was thinking about posting them on a rotating basis on social media. This would ideally be automated, with a post every 2-3 days or so.
I just don't want my social media accounts to look like ghost towns (which they do now). Most of my traffic comes from Google anyway and I don't have the time to do these posts myself.
So, what do you guys think? Bad idea or?
