What is the difference between "accept friend" and "add friend" on snapchat for people you have unfriended?

So I have my snapchat set to where people can view my story even if I have unfriended them. When I click on the profiles of users who are not my friends who viewed my story, some of them say "add friend" and others say "accept friend."
The only thing I can think is that those who say "accept friend" are ones who have not unfriended me. But if the ones who say "add friend" have also unfriended me, how does my snapchat story even popping up on their feed?
