Question about snapchats video resolution on stories?

Quick question why does Snapchat compresses the video really blurry on my IPhone XR when I record and upload it to my story but when I save it as a memory and than put it to my story the video is like 1080p? Also what is the highest resolution that Snapchat will take? I am thinking about recording stuff on my 4K action camera and than upload it into my Snapchat. Will it support 4k?
