Will I lose my verification/blue tick if I change my username on Instagram?

I have a verified account on Instagram as I’m a musician.
I want to change my username but from browsing google I’ve seen people say it’s a risk. But then again I can’t see anywhere on Instagram that states this or a story of someone losing their verification cause of this, I feel people are guessing online.
Trying to find a reliable source who works at Instagram or something that may be able to help me here.
