What do you think of tagging brands on publications even if they don’t figure on the picture ?

I usually tag brands that figure on the picture but I’ve seen people tagging 10-15 different brands (close to the subject of the picture) even if their product wasn’t on the picture. Do you think it has an impact if their desire is to make them more visible to those brands ? What if: 1. Brands don’t like it or 2. Instagram’s algorithm sees it like spam ?
