Hashtags on FB are dead, 3 minute videos are prioritised, according to senior FB rep

At a recent event at Australia's new Facebook HQ (amazing office overlooking Sydney Harbour), a senior rep recommended to not use hashtags at all on Facebook.
Hashtags are 'problematic' and 'complicated' and FB has given up on them all together. She alluded to posts with # being unprioritised in the newsfeed.
She also said that videos over 3 minutes in length will be prioritised.
Sounds like they're trying to grow the average watch time and take the battle with YouTube up a notch.
The other interesting thing she said was that FB will try to prioritise the first source that shares breaking news. Didn't really go into much detail, but I'd assume she was talking about a scenario where a user is following multiple news outlets, they will see one version of the breaking news on their feed instead of 3 different versions of the same story. Whichever was first to post an overperforming version. (If you don't know what I mean by overperforming, Google Crowdtangle).
