Starting a unusual social media marketing campaign from scratch
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
I’m so inexperienced in social media marketing, I wouldn’t even qualify as a novice.
I am the creator of a fictional character -- Martin Muntor (protagonist of the novel "Find Virgil") -- who has, since 1996, gained minor fame as an underground cult hero.
My goal is to build awareness of Muntor (and the novel) on various social media platforms (primarily IG?) in an effort to create some buzz and attract the attention of Hollywood producers for my screenplay based on the novel.
In a nutshell, Muntor was a wire-service reporter who contracted lung cancer from second-hand smoke and pledged, before he dies, he will to destroy Big Tobacco through an intricate plot of poisoning cigarettes with cyanide and slipping them back into the retail distribution chain. He launches his campaign and hundreds die. The FBI and tobacco industry go berserk trying to find the madman. Muntor wants to cause widespread panic among smokers and within tobacco industry and law enforcement. More die as Muntor travels the country poisoning smokers. He taunts the FBI and tobacco industry execs.
It's all-hands-on-deck to capture the mass murderer, but Muntor becomes a living folk hero in the eyes of those who agree with him that Big Tobacco is a murderous industry and needs to be stopped, regardless of how many must die. I have only a vague idea of what I want to do on social media platforms, and the deliverable I seek is a step-by-step plan to help raise awareness of Martin Muntor, the novel "Find Virgil," and ultimately, my screenplay. Teen vaping concerns are in the news and will be for the foreseeable future, so there's that. Despite a small decline in people who smoke, there are still over 400,000 deaths-per-year as a result of smoking.
I need help in learning where to start, what steps to take, et cetera.
TL/DR: I’m a novelist who wants to use social media to make one of my characters famous in an effort to attract the attention of Hollywood.
