Memes as Part of Social Strategy

Hey everyone, I do social media consulting work in partnership with a graphic design company and our client base is almost entirely made of restaurants or food products.
To take advantage of the graphic design skill set I have access to, I’ve been incorporating original memes we write and design as part of my scheduled content. We’ve been trying to create meme content that matches imagery for our branding, but that is also vaguish and relatable in hopes people will DM it to their friends, tag people, etc.
Has anyone else incorporated memes into their social strategy, and if so how? Any advice on how to create more shareable content in this format?
