Youtube Rewind 2018 and what it means

I assume you all know what it is, and hopefully you disliked it, because it's terrible. Not only does it display YouTube's disconnection with its fans, but it doesn't celebrate the culture at all. I still remember when it was a celebrated and cherished video, when it was actually about the fans and social media culture. Now it's just a ploy used by YouTube to show off to advertisers, while they beat up any channel who makes content that is remotely edgy and/or not cooperating with the algorithm's views. Take Lost Pause, an anime related channel that's currently at 1.2 mil subs, that was almost terminated because he made remotely "questionable" content. It goes to show that YouTube does not care about its channels and viewers, and the newest rewind is a sign of that.
