Where did Facebook go wrong for young people?

I feel like Facebook was very popular for teenagers/young adults 5-10 years ago but now it’s just for old people and girls to post pictures they don’t want to put on Instagram. To me Facebook seems like the perfect combination of pictures(Instagram) and text(Twitter) and videos. It’s everything they could possibly want in one central place instead they choose to spread it out over multiple apps. I am just curious why this phenomenon is occurring, is it because they are able to portray themselves in a different light on multiple outlets, Facebook did something wrong, or do the others apps have something Facebook lacks? I just find it amusing as it feels people are making social media more complex then it needs to be.
