Send message button not working on my post?

I made a post on my page that I want to boost and advertise for the next week.
The "send message" button on this post doesn't seem to be working and everytime someone presses it they get a notification saying "message not sent" "this person is not available right now".
I cant seem to find how to make this button active. What am I missing?
To clarify, the Send message button works on my page. The send message button on my post doesn't. I need them both to work.
