Seeking advice on strategy and KPIs

I'm on a team that is an extension of our Community Team which primarily focuses on boosting posts from our social calendar to drive link clicks and hopefully downloads. The role is a little bit of a hybrid role, but I can't really get a feel for how to improve or what KPIs really matter.
Anyone else run a similar strategy on social?
