How to contact a YouTube subscriber who’s won a competition?

We’re running a competition shortly where people will subscribe to our channel to enter (please don’t comment with your thoughts on whether or not this is best practice).
YouTube have removed the ability to message subscribers. The only way I can conceive of announcing the winner is via a video upload and community post asking the winner to leave a comment. We can then get their details.
Seems a little clunky. Anyone else have ideas?
