Hashtags on Facebook?

This was asked over a year ago but a lot happens in the year.. so here it goes. "Quick question: what are your thoughts on using hashtags on Facebook? At my old job, I was told it often hurts posts and doesn't work as well as it does on Twitter or Insta, but I've seen posts here that say 1-2 hashtags on FB are useful.
I was under the impression FB mainly picks up on buzzwords and keywords, with their trending sections. Is this not the case? Do y'all see use in hashtags on Facebook?"
