Fashion client only interested in sales as a metric for their organic social

My view is generally that organic is all about brand storytelling and ultimately audience growth & engagement (which should in turn generate sales if you do all that very well).
Historically I've recommended paid for the hard-cash-making bit (for obvious reasons).
They have enlisted an agency to help with paid so I don't need to worry about that, but a cash-driving organic strategy is a little out of my comfort zone I fear...
Can't decide whether to push back and recommend changing their organic goal posts or to submit to their will... in which case any tips on boosting £££ organically?
Any views in general are much appreciated.
