The Situation

Let's face it, the internet, and the world at large, is stagnant. We have been doing the same things for over a decade now, and what has it really gotten us? We put in effort day after day, trying to build something, but like for the hamster on a wheel, that something never comes. Why? Because the current social media does not allow you to build anything lasting and meaningful.

Ever notice how there is a Facebook community, a YouTube community, a Twitter community, and so on, but there is never a YOU community? Even the most successful social media aficionados lose all relevance once they stop posting, because ultimately, all they built was a graveyard of abandoned posts. More to the point, were these individuals ever truly relevant if their entire operation was built on the shifting sands of planned obsolescence? The world has been held back by an outdated paradigm for long enough, and it is time to turn the page.

For the past year, we have been building a new kind of social media. This platform addresses the failings of the current system, while providing exciting new solutions that people have wanted since the dawn of the internet. On this platform, each user has the potential to become not just a profile or channel, but a full-fledged empire.

Where You Come In

Most of the heavy lifting has already been taken care of, and soon the platform will be entering the testing phase. What we could use now is a content creator who can help us smooth out the rough edges. This individual should be heavily invested in the current social media game and its various advertising / monetization mechanisms. This person should also have an interest in platform design, though no illustration is required. You will mainly be providing feedback and modifying features.

Retrospect

We understand many have attempted this, and pretty much all have failed. The thing is, while others set out to create an alternative, that is not our goal at all. Facebook did not become popular by promoting itself as "not MySpace" and then providing a near-identical experience. Facebook, along with most other big platforms, found success by doing the rational thing: giving the world something new and better. But what was new and better 10 years ago is anything but today, so of course providing users with the same experience in a slightly different package is not going to work.

Our goal is not to give the world an alternative, nor are we trying to go up against the big players. We are simply trying to give the world something new and better, and in doing so, shift the paradigm from Web 2.0 - User Projection to Web 3.0 - User Empowerment.
