How To Reddit Marketing? ( Question, not an Article)

Hello, maybe asking "how to reddit marketing" on Reddit is like playing with fire, but i will fly close to the sun this time. I'm a newbie on Reddit (5 Days old) and as i understand lots of company or individual uses reddit for their marketing campaign. Reddit has a unique opportunity for marketing because of subreddits. You can find your audience very easily. But sometimes when i see a post including an ad. will be stoned to death, getting downvotes as fry.
So please tell me, what should someone do on reddit. I guess relevant content + right subreddit is a good formula but it doesn't work well.. or does it?
