Here’s What We Should Be Asking Actors on the Red Carpet Tomorrow Night
http://ift.tt/eA8V8J
At this Sunday’s Golden Globes actors of all genders will band together in solidarity by wearing black. It’s the industry’s way of showing support for victims of sexual harassment. This comes three years after the #AskHerMore campaign, which encouraged reporters to ask women actors on the red carpet about more than their designer dresses. So, we suspect the once ubiquitous “Who are you wearing?” will not be the de rigueur question of the night. In fact, we imagine red carpet banter might be stilted and uncomfortable as our culture emerges from a post-Weinstein era. No longer will the awards show be a source of flashy entertainment; this Sunday, the Golden Globes are expected to be a more serious, sombre affair.
In preparation, the FASHION staff have devised a list of questions for red carpet reporters — some cheeky, some not — that have absolutely nothing to do with clothes.
“What movie character did you relate to the most growing up?”
“If you could adapt one story for the screen that hasn’t been done yet, what would it be?”
“How was working with the director?”
“What was the weirdest thing you did to prepare for your role?”
“If you could describe your life right now in one GIF what would it be?”
“What emojis are on your ‘recently used’ keyboard?”
“Who do you most want to hug right now?”
“If you could teleport one person to the awards who isn’t here right now, who would it be?”
"What movie made you want to become an actor?"
“What are you most looking forward to in 2018?”
“If you weren’t acting, what would you be doing for a living?”
"We all learn things in every job we do: What did you learn about yourself during this production?"
“If you weren’t attending this event, how would you be watching it?”
“Using only interpretative dance and incoherent grunts, please describe what Meryl Streep means to you?”
