What happened to being able to enter post IDs in Facebook Ads in order to retain social proof of successful paid ads?

To Whom That May Be Of Service,

I've been trying to pool/retain/carry-forward the social proof (likes/shares etc) from successful/engaging paid ads I've created/been running on Facebook Ads.

Normally, I'll have an Ad Set, with two ads. The ad that gives me the most engagement/return (usually they go hand in hand) I then use in several other ad sets that I then create. In these newly created ad sets, I then "dupe" the ad in each one, by copy/pasting its POST ID in the the location: Ad Set Up > Use Existing Post > Enter Post ID. That way the social proof is retained, which further builds the power of the ad on FB.

I don't know what happened over the last 7-14 days, but this process is no longer valid.

I used to copy the ID from the ad's weblink and paste it, but now I get this error: "This post can't be used for an ad because it doesn't exist on the Page you've chosen, or it was originally created on a personal profile. Please choose a different post and try again**."** This error is strange bc I am using my business account on FB ads, not some personal account.

And in the Page Posts section in Ads Manager, there are now dozens of IDs under the same/identical ad, and if i copy/paste one of these IDs, I get another error: "Page Post Can't Be Promoted: The Page post you are trying to promote xxxxxxxxxxx237 has been previously edited and it's reactions, comments and shares are combined with another Page post. Because of this, the Page post can't be promoted again. Please choose a different Page post to promote. (#1885536)". It's the same ad, using an existing post ID, so why can't it be used?

Has this happened to anyone else? Am I missing something? Does the "several" different IDs in the Page Posts section have anything to do maybe with edit times, or me having to select the most recently/last edited version?

Thanks very much everyone for your help!
