Pros & cons of launching store Instagram pages for massive retail client?

I have a retail client that has a large amount of stores in the country. A few people who aren't exactly social media savvy are pushing to let stores create and run their own Instagram pages. I wanted to get everyone's thoughts on what that means for my (very small) team. I'm personally against it because it would be a nightmare to oversee, moderate and help manage but I wanted to get your thoughts here.
