Tips for a pinterest beginner on how to promote blog posts?

Hey, just started on pinterest and started getting average of 1.3k impressions monthly.
For now, all I have done is built a few boards and pin images leading to relevant posts on my blog. I already am making use of keywords and creating appealing and right size pinterest posts.
Wondering what else I could be doing to boost growth and get more clicks to my site?
Also does the time I pin matter, as Pinterest is more of a search engine and I assume people are more likely to find my stuff from search rather than just following?
