Patreon / Instagrammer

Hi! I'm on instagram and I make reading guides for Marvel's X-Men. My account has massively exceeded my expectations with now over 20k followers and I've been asked before if I have a patreon. I didn't really know what a patreon was but I kinda like the idea of it after reading some but im not sure how to translate my instagram stories to patreon. Any advice is welcome, is it a separate website or app? I know what followers are like with external links on instagram (ie not very willing to click) but I do know of some reading guide sites that are hugely successful without the following i have.
