How to stay safe
I guess this is a safety / security type of post in the internet realm.
hello everyone! This goes to people who have similar questions.
I'll start off by saying I am new to reddit and I made this account pretty much just for my question (but who knows, I may stick around).
I have been intrigued by the social media influencer world/celebrity world for quite some time but I had some questions that IDK if I'm too stupid to figure out myself or if there's more to it.
How do influencers/celebs not have everything leaked all the time? As a person who uses the internet i've gathered that it's easy to "ha*k" someone and figure out there address/ip/phone number/social security (I have NOT done these things, but people seem to just do this all the time to people)... is that not the case?? And if so, how do these people not have their private photos/messages leaked, or photos at all just looked through and posted? Is there a way to delete those things, for good? Even in the "dar*web?" Like for instance, Madelyn Cline is a new actress from the show Outerbanks on Netflix, is she 'safe'? Like before fame she wasn't in the spotlight or really famous, does she have a team of people to help prevent things like that? Or like, a streamer for instance? How do people like Ninja, Yassuo etc. just go on with their life and never have those issues (I guess they could be behind the scenes, but still). Or Pokimane, the internets favorite girl streamer, she’s a good example. I understand I'm coming off very paranoid/overthinking it but it's something I've thought about for a while. Im sorry if I do come off that way, I am just wanting to figure out more info.
I guess I'm more asking because IM personally scared to try and become an actress (or pursue it), and have bad things happen to me like that. I know it's a risk to be in the spotlight and all. Or pursue an influencer career (sue me.)
Can anyone on here please help me? If I do decide this route, how do I protect myself? I don't have a fear of things I've said in the past being an issue, I'm not racist/a hateful person and I never have been. But if I ever do want to get into the spotlight world I want to know what I'm truly signing up for. ALSO sorry if I'm asking easy questions but I truly don't know how a lot of those things work. Also sorry I wasn't sure what "community" to post my post in!
