Is it time to “try again” on tiktok?

I have a TikTok account (pet centered) that I make high quality videos with. I have 9k followers and have been active for a little under a month. I recently watched Max Li’s video about TikTok algorithms and how it all works, specifically noting the bit about the first five videos being most important. My first five were not hits, and at the time I didn’t really know how to use TikTok. I’m concerned that that really hurt my chance for success because early on TikTok determines your “authority” and I’m not sure if that number changes.
However- I had a video go viral ~500k views and 100k likes which led to multiple videos after that going 50-60k views and then now I’m back down to 2-3k views. It seems very unsteady, and I’m not sure if this means my accounts rank is changing or not, if that makes sense.
So, I’ve seen some people say try creating a new account and post some new “great” content and see how it fares being a new account with extra pushed videos. However, I also read having 2 accounts on one phone could trigger TikTok lessening your accounts’ weight putting them in the business category. I definitely don’t want to further squash my current account but am also thinking “well, maybe I should save all my videos and try again”. What do you think? If I posted my own content again (or new content, same animals) on a new account would that hurt either account? I really do feel like my videos and efforts are strong enough to have a solid viral account.
Thanks for reading! 😊
