Best way to delete followers?

I recently got a list of my followers and I'm trying to delete the ghost followers and bots but I'm not really sure what is the best way to do it? I try going into the app and searching for each name but I quickly got banned from doing that. Now I'm on the computer searching by URL through chrome browser and blocking each person but I'm afraid that I'm going to get banned that way as well. Also I'm not sure if blocking is the best technique.. I appreciate your help everyone is so supportive in this forum!
