Does Facebook secretly boost your first ad?

Hi,
I recently launched a room decor business and have run a bunch of ads on Instagram. My very first one I only spent $10 on and got about 30,000 impressions, thousands of likes, and a purchase. However, ever ad after that has been a flop—I even re-ran that exact same successful ad and got very little engagement. I'm wondering if maybe Facebook boosts your first ad so that you continue to buy more in hopes of getting the same results?
