Big collaboration isn’t getting me new followers

Hi everyone, first post here :)
A much larger profile (IG and FB) recently started buying comedy content from me (sketches and weekly comedy news) regularly. Every time they post something of mine, they link to my profile as well – an awesome additional perk, in theory. But: while my content gets great responses on their account, I get 0 new followers.
What could be the reason for this? If people like my stuff, they could get much more in that vein if they also followed me...? My client couldn't be promoting me more than they already are.
Thanks in advance! I'd love to get this rolling...
