How to view analytics?

Hi there,
My girlfriend is currently working on a class project that requires her to research how much engagement there has been across social media platforms in regard to a particular conservation issue. She is doing it on the Australian wildfires. Most of what we have found about viewing analytics is specific to business accounts and influencers. Does anyone know of a way to run some kind of search to see how many people have been talking/posting about the Australian fires? Thanks a billion in advance.
