Instagram follow requests are disappearing

I think there is a glitch on Instagram. I’ve gotten notifications on my phone that ppl request to follow me, but when I go on the app, the follow requests aren’t there anymore.
Is this happening to anyone else? I get that ppl can cancel their follow request, but it’s happened multiple times for me now so I’m absolutely certain that this is a glitch.
