Last night, NYC charity organization God’s Love We Deliver held its annual dinner/awards ceremony at the newly opened Cipriani on the South Street waterfront.
After guests enjoyed a sizeable charcuterie and cheese spread at the cocktail reception, Tiffany Haddish kicked off the formal seated part of the evening in true, hilarious style. Approaching the stage with a napkin in hand, a visibly rushed Haddish (wearing a custom jacket and trousers by Michael Kors Collection), said, “I didn’t know we were getting started this fast, I started to eat. I was eating my salad, nibbling on the bread. I might have crumbs on my face but just know that that means I eat, I’m a human.”
The awards ceremony is supported by Michael Kors, who presented the Michael Kors Award for Outstanding Community Service to Iman. Welcoming her to the stage, Michael said, “When I was getting ready for the Golden Heart Awards, I started thinking about what it means to have heart. And for me, ultimately it’s about standing up for what you believe in and fiercely defending others with intelligence and grace. And Iman, who has been a tireless supporter of God’s Love We Deliver for many, many years does that and much more.”
Mayor Pete Buttigeig (a current Presidential candidate) was also honoured alongside MAC’s John Dempsey. During his acceptance speech, Dempsey announced a new fund, inspired by the late Isabel Toledo,
The sparkling ceremony, which brings together some of the city’s finest, was attended by a lengthy list of well-renowned names. Models Sara Sampaio, Halima Aden, Winnie Harlow and Iman Hammam were spotted alongside actresses Marisa Tomei and Lupita Nyong’o. Karen Elson, Neil Patrick Harris, Anna Wintour, Derek Blasberg and Cleo Wade were also in attendance.
