Does anyone else feel like social media is an illusion?

I met a client the other day and I saw her social media page and I was very disappointed in person because she was so not who she portrayed herself to be.
Another friend of mine had gotten an astrology reading from a woman she saw on Instagram. The astrologer had all of these followers and portrayed herself as being always busy etc.. but after the reading she said she wasn’t impressed in the least bit. Just seems like social media offers a lot of illusion to who people really are.
Has anyone done a detox? Or have you gotten rid of it completely?
