A Pivot in Personal Branding
https://ift.tt/eA8V8J
Hello r/socialmedia
My name is Eric Villa and I have been producing videos about consumer electronics for the past 5 years. In that time, I was fortunate enough to grow a dedicated audience of 6,000 people and monetize my channel into a part-time job. However, I found that technology was not my passion and I began making videos about social media marketing and influencer marketing, as well as short films mini-docs. My retention time on my videos has gone up from 40% to 60%, however, my overall views and engagement have plummetted on my channel.
I recognize many people in my audience don't care about my new subject matter so I am curious if anyone here has ever made a pivot in their content before. If so, did you start a new channel? Did you delete your old videos? Did you address it at all in your content?
I look forward to hearing how you have adapted your personal brands. I'd love to see as many people's content as possible. Feel free to put a link to your page in the thread.
