Undoubtedly, Facebook has a lot of power in that many people essentially get their news, and current events from it today.
Yet even greater than this, there's a whole generation (and I imagine a great chunk of other generations) who have sent private messages to people that would affect their career, or a life in politics if they got out. My question, to anyone in the know, is that if say a new president is running, or even a more lowly political figure is trying to achieve office, could Facebook, if they so wished, legally leak their private message to the public? I know this may well be bad for Facebook as a business, but is there actually anything enshrined in law to stop them doing this?
