Several friends of mine on Snapchat are suddenly all under “Subscriptions” now?

I have three friends’ stories under “subscriptions” out of nowhere and was just wondering what’s up with that. All three of them for sure had me added back and just yesterday one of their stories was where it normally is. Did I get excommunicated or is this something to do with their accounts being public? Haven’t posted on my story in weeks so would be weird if I got removed all at once by separate friends not familiar with one another. Thanks!
