Facebook disabled during lock

So long story short I had my fake roleplay account on facebook locked with the ol' 'send us a selfie' verification system. I accepted my account was gone and moved on, although about a month and a half later I needed to get in it to retrieve a message so I figured I would just send them a selfie to regain access.
When I logged in instead of seeing the locked account it said my account had been disabled with a link sending me to their faq page. Any ideas why an account would be disabled while locked before I had even sent a selfie? Granted this was at least a month after it had been locked.
