What features make certain social media platforms more enjoyable than others?

What characteristics, algorithms, interfaces styles, flashy features, etc. make you more likely to open one media platform more than another. Do you prefer to have a chronological timeline or a "what you might like first" time line. Do you like features like Jnstagram's "stories"? Maybe you enjoy bite sized information, and like Twitters character limit. Do you want to see more platforms integrate nsfw options (including being able to choose to see/not see nsfw content). I'm open to all opinions and feedback, anything is helpful.
