Has anyone ever been scammed by an Instagram "influencer?"

I reached out to an Instagram "influencer" who has around 30k followers on behalf of my client. Sent her $440 plus my client's product to use in a photoshoot. She was to provide us with photos and was allowed to keep the product. This was in August/September.
It's not January and she still has not provided us with anything and will not answer emails or messages.
We used PayPal to pay her. What would you do? Try to get the money back or let it go? My client is a small business and does not make a ton of money so this was a big deal for them.
